47 Nigerian men appeared in court on Wednesday on homosexuality charges after they were arrested by police in a hotel raid. Nigeria outlawed homosexuality in 2014, and while no one has yet been convicted of it, activists say the law has been used by police to extort bribes from people in exchange for not pursuing charges.
