The photo-sharing service was launched in May 2015. Less than half a year after its debut, over 100 million were using Photos. The storage service then passed 500 million in 2017. Photos is now the ninth service from Google to reach the one billion plateau. Other products include Gmail, YouTube and Google Maps.
